So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.[ GOD is LOVE LO- VE FPC PRESCHOOL The First Presbyterian Preschool in Salem is opening their preschool / enrichment program to half day preschool services (morning only) for 3-5 yr olds to meet the needs of children and families. We are having our second Fall Flower Bulb Sale. We are selling Yellow Daffodils, Mt. Hood White Daffodils, Red Devon (yellow with red center) narcissus, Red Tulips, and bags of surprise mixed bulbs. Each bag is $5.00 which goes directly to the Preschool. All bulbs have been given so that all profit can be used for the preschool. The bags will be ready this Wednesday at the Preschool, or you can pick them up on Sunday at Coffee Time. Prepare your places to plant. Spade approximately 8 inches deep and add some peatmoss and a little bone meal for best results. They always look better in clumps to me. Once planted they grow for years undisturbed, or you can separate and spread them out every few years — they just keep blooming and growing. The Scouts have agreed to plant many along the front stone fence which will look amazing in the spring! (We were given extra for this). Another fundraiser will be a Spaghetti Dinner made by Frank Zamarelli. What a great way for the congregation and friends to come together after such a long time of dealing with Covid. Frank will bring his Italian expertise to make a really outstanding fun dinner for all. Watch the bulletin and the Messenger for date and time for this event. It will be the first all church meal in three years — Wow! Our Preschool is off to a wonderful start this year with more children and fun for everyone. If you stop in during their day, you hear the happy and excited voices of our little people. It doesn’t get any better than this! Thank you for your support of this wonderful mission of our church. We are indeed blessed to have this great gift in our church for over 75 years. Thanks to all that have made it possible and continue to support our Presbyterian Preschool. Donations of Kleenex, Paper Towels, and Disinfectant Wipes are welcome for the Preschool. If you have a great soup recipe and are interested in heading up a soup team, please call the Church Office and get on the soup calendar! When “Soup to Go” was first begun, it was agreed that the price of the soup would be $5.00 and that the proceeds of the sales would go to local missions. Our committee has chosen to keep the price of the soup at $5.00 but with the rise in cost of the ingredients, we will not have as much money to donate to the local missions.
